Monday kicks off the week with some thrilling playoff matchups including Game one between the Stars and Golden Knights where we find our next pick for the red hot Pad Stacking Challenge.
If you aren’t familiar, our new betting challenge uses the concept of building our bank and rolling over our profits. We do this by stacking our winnings through well-researched picks given out daily that will hopefully build our bank.
Yesterday, we hit another milestone thanks to the Vancouver Canucks battling back to beat the Nashville Predators in Game one and extending our stack to $552 that we look to continue to build upon. We don’t not endorse betting this amount of money on a regular basis.
All betting lines are from BetMGM and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.
Bet: Golden Knights Stars Over 5.5 goals (-120)
The total for this matchup is very low which is surprising for the one of the league’s top offenses in the Stars taking on the defending champions in the Golden Knights. We broke down the Golden Knights road troubles earlier this season around the trade deadline and they still haven’t improved.
Since going all in at the deadline, the Golden Knights closed out the season going 4-4-1 during their remaining nine road games with a goals against average of 3.58 but still competent offensive numbers at 2.89 goals per game.
People are expecting Dallas to play the shut down game as they’ve excelled at it all year thanks to netminder Jake Oettinger, who has helped the Stars secure the second-lowest goals against average since the start of March at 2.30 over a lengthy 20-game span.

They’ve beat teams down with their offense averaging 3.70 goals per game during that span. The game that the Sportsbook seems to be foreshadowing is the Stars winning a tight low-scoring game that will see Dallas further exploit the Golden Knights road troubles.
I think this will ring true and the Stars should continue the hot streak of home teams winning Game one’s in the NHL but I believe the Golden Knights will be more lively in this one as they are one of the most experienced teams in the mix.
They’ve made the playoffs in six of the last seven seasons with the second-most playoff wins in the league during that span with 11 more wins over the next team in the Colorado Avalanche.
They’ve consistently been a playoff scoring team with a 3.18 goals per game average during their playoff wins and should find a way to score on Oettinger, who allowed six goals in his last game versus Vegas.
If we look to roll the $552 we’ve accumulated over the past few days from our initial $10 on tonight’s over, it’ll grow our winnings to $1,010 and will accomplish the biggest milestone to date for the Pad Stacking Challenge.
