Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens elevate each others offenses with seven or more goals in five of their last eight matchups.
Saturday is the best night of the week for hockey and always has a loaded matchup with plenty of chances to make big time profits and give us wide variety for our next selection in the Pad Stacking Challenge.
If you aren’t familiar, our new betting challenge uses the concept of building our bank and rolling over our profits. We do this by stacking our winnings through well-researched picks given out daily that will hopefully build our bank.
We started the climb once again yesterday and secured our first victory with the Flames and Ducks totalling over six goals and giving us $18 we can extend today with a pick from the all-Canadian matchup between the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators.
All betting lines are from BetMGM and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.
Bet: Canadiens Senators Over 6.5 goals (-110)
The Canadiens and Senators are not the best defensive teams as they rank 26th and 27th in goals against average respectively. Ottawa has been more of a threat this season with a goals per game average of 3.08 that ranks 17th and shots on goal average of 31.8 that ranks in the top ten.
Montreal can also be lively on offense with the 15th-best shooting percentage despite being 27th in average shots on net. The Senators will have the advantage of home ice where they excel offensively with four players over 35 points in 40 home games and a goal per home game average of 3.23 this season.
They allow the third-most goals at home however with an average of 3.53 which is a good sign for Montreal’s Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield who are also lethal offensively when on the ice.
The pair have more than 30 points in 39 road games and can look to end the Habs eight-game losing streak to Ottawa. The two normally elevate their offenses against each other with seven or more goals in five of their last eight matchups.
This would bring our current total of $18 to $34 that we can start to build on and really take off once again.
