Vegas captain Mark Stone has scoring touch when playing Nashville and should find back of the net among other Best Bets from Tuesday late slate

Tuesday sees most people return to work after a long weekend which may have some down but hockey fans can look forward to an exciting lineup of NHL action that is worth keeping an eye on for both hockey enthusiasts and sports bettors alike.

The most intriguing matchups in the late window are the Jets looking to cool off a red hot Wild team that has won seven of their last ten games, the Golden Knights look to fend off the Predators and the Canucks travel to the Rocky Mountains to take on the Avalanche in the marquee matchup of the night.

It should be an exciting afternoon of hockey and if you want to get in on all the action, here's a breakdown of the matchups with some insights for potential betting opportunities.

All betting lines are from Bet365 and are subject to change. Please gamble responsibly.

Minnesota Wild @ Winnipeg Jets

The Jets goalie tandem have slowed down the best of offenses and should look to again versus a red hot Wild team that has the hottest offense in the league since mid-January, averaging 4.08 goals per game.

They will also come in with a good amount of momentum after scoring ten goals against the Canucks Monday night. It may be tough for both teams to compete at such a high-pace due to tonight’s matchup being their third game in the last four days for both squads.

Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi should look to benefit from a tired Wild team as he’s got a team-lead six goals in his last 16 games and should get extra looks with his top line minutes that has him playing alongside centre Mark Scheifele, who leads the Jets with 31 assists, and winger Kyle Connor, who leads the Jets with 19 goals. His line produces regularly and should in a tough game Tuesday night.

Pick: Gabriel Vilardi over 0.5 points (-110)

Vancouver Canucks @ Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche have started to see more defensive breakdowns with the team ranking bottom-five in goals against per game with a 3.69 average. This should help winger Brock Boeser, who finds the scoresheet regularly against the Avs with points in ten of his 14 career games against them and has ten points in his last 14 games.

He ended a six-game point drought last night and should continue his success against Colorado netminder Alexandar Georgiev, who has played more than any other goalie in the league with 46 starts this season.

He is one of 27 goalies that have started 30 or more games this season and in the bunch he ranks 22nd in save percentage with .898 and tied for 17th in goals against average with Tampa Bay’s Andrei Vasilevskiy with 2.94 although should receive some leniency with his additional starts.

His fatigue may start to be setting in as he’s allowed three or more goals in four straight starts. Boeser should get the best of him on at least one goal.

Pick: Brock Boeser over 0.5 points (-140)

Nashville Predators @ Vegas Golden Knights

The Predators have gone unnoticed for most of the season with the occasional hot streak perking the ears of hockey fans from time to time. They have started to fall behind the competition with just three wins in their last ten games and one of their losses being a brutal 9-2 beat down at the hands of the Stars.

They haven’t had much to cheer for as their defensive play has been among the league’s worst with a 3.25 goals against per game average that is just outside the bottom ten teams in the league.

Vegas also has a great history against Nashville with wins in ten of their 16 matchups all-time. The captain Mark Stone also seems to find his scoring touch when he faces off against Nashville with six goals in their last six matchups and is looking to find the back of the net with just one goal in his last 11 games. He’ll look to rebound in a favourable spot and get one past Predators netminder Juuse Saros.

Pick: Mark Stone anytime goal (+160)
