Count On Oilers' Connor McDavid Leading Points, Panthers' Sam Reinhart Leading Goals for Team Canada

Team Canada will feature an elite top line with Connor McDavid, Sam Reinhart and Mitch Marner at the Four Nations Face-Off

The Four Nations Face Off kicks off Wednesday with a pair of matchups including Canada versus Sweden and the United States playing Finland. The elite showcase of the best hockey players in the world should excite all fans of the sport and we've looked up some ways that you can hopefully profit on the event.

We start off by finding who will be the tournament's leading scorer. We look to do this by examining the projected lines as well as including their recent performance and history versus the likely goaltenders of the other teams.

NHL Four Nations Face-Off Future Bets:

    • Connor McDavid Leading Scorer (+700)
    • Sam Reinhart Team Canada Top Goal Scorer (+500)

There's many options for who could be the top scorer but the two most prevalent options are two Canadians in Edmonton's Connor McDavid or Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon. It is expected that MacKinnon will likely play with Sidney Crosby and Mark Stone while McDavid will centre the top line with Mitch Marner and Sam Reinhart.

They will first face off against Sweden, who will have Minnesota's Filip Gustavsson in net, followed by the United States and current Vezina trophy leader in odds Connor Hellebuyck and ending off against Finland with Nashville's Juuse Saros expected to man the crease.

MacKinnon has more points and a better point-per-game average than McDavid over the last two seasons yet these goalie matchups bold well for McDavid. The Oilers captain has better averages against the projected starters with seven points in three games versus Gustavsson, 56 points in 30 games versus Hellebuyck and lastly 20 points in 11 games versus Saros.

Not to mention, he'll be able to create plays with an elite puckmover like Marner, who has the third-most assists in the NHL with 55 while setting up the near-60 goal scorer from last season in Reinhart.

McDavid and Reinhart are also slated to play on the first powerplay unit which should help the two of them continue to add to their point total. MacKinnon will also be on the first unit as well but the addition of Stone to his line with Crosby may not give him the same added benefit that McDavid will have with Reinhart and Marner.

I expect the top line with McDavid should appear similar to the Crosby line with Marchand and Matt Duchene at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, where they played a role in winning Canada almost every game.
