Value Bets you have to take immediately before it's too late

We are at just past the midway point of the first round where teams are being eliminated like the Washington Capitals while others like the Colorado Avalanche surge in value. It's a tricky time for jumping in on the action and making an investment when the team you are investing in can be eliminated in the next few days like Dallas for example after dropping their first two games. 

As we approach this part of the season, we look at bets we can take that are at a great value as of today. Whether it's a team to win Lord Stanley or who is at the best value to take home the Conn Smythe, there is a ton of value out on the sportsbooks that people should be taking advantage of before the odds change. 

Here are our current best value picks that you should take before time runs out. We will look at great value bets to invest in before it's too late.

Bet: Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup (+350 - Odds may vary)

This may be listed at only a handful of sportsbooks but if it is listed at yours, it is something you have to take on value alone. The odds listed for this bet on other sportsbooks have it at +350 which can be look at as a lower odd for taking the Edmonton Oilers, who are currently the favourite listed at +400 on BetMGM and are just one win away from the second round, while also getting the benefit of having other teams like the Vancouver Canucks. 

The Toronto Maple Leafs still have a chance down 3-1 in their series but what we should turn our focus to the Pacific Division section of the Stanley Cup Playoff bracket. We already mentioned that the Oilers are up 3-1 in their series and will play the winner of the Vancouver versus Nashville series where the Canucks have a 3-1 lead.

Vancouver also falls under our bet as a Canadian team and when they likely meet the Oilers in the second round, it guarantees that one of our teams is at least making the Western Conference final. 

This would've been an even greater value if we had a chance with the Jets making it out of the Central Division section and then we would've had a guaranteed Stanley Cup Final team out the West but having a bet that insures you have an investment at a great value for on one of the final four teams in the playoffs is a fantastic idea. 

Bet: Dallas Stars to win Stanley Cup (+1400)

This is something you will have to take within the next few hours or else the value will disapate. The Stars are listed at a staggering number to win the Cup and are very much alive in their series as they showed up on offense with a sensational game winner by youngster Wyatt Johnston in overtime for a 3-2 victory.

If they win Game four and tie up the series, this odd will drastically drop down with Dallas likely becoming one of the favourite teams to win like they were listed at heading into the playoffs. 

They should have a great chance at generating offense in Game four as many of their top end talent has yet to record a point. We covered it in today's Best Bets but forwards Roope Hintz, Joe Pavelski and Matt Duchene have all failed to get a point so far this series after each player finished with 65 or more points this season. 

We are due for a breakout game from one of these players and will propel Dallas to the win and the Stars to the top of the board among Stanley Cup favourites. The Stars are listed so far down the board at +1400 that even just a $10 bet would net you $150 and is something you can feel good about as if they fail to win Game four then you lose a small sum of money and if they win, you will get an investment on one of the top teams in the league at a price they likely won't be listed at again for the rest of the playoffs.
