There was plenty of excitement for 2023-24 Upper Deck Extended Series Hockey when the checklist was revealed. Connor Bedard has new chase cards. This is the first chance for collectors to chase Adam Fantilli and Logan Cooley Young Guns. Extended Series Hockey has a little bit of something for everybody.
At a price point of $150 per box, collectors can expect to find a combination of six Young Guns and First Round Rookies, two rare or numbered cards, two Retro Black Diamond Cards, one Outburst parallel, four Upper Deck Canvas cards, and more.
This is the most expensive Extended Series to date. The last two installments of Extended Series trades for $75 per box, half of what 2023-24 Extended Series trades for.
We will break this question down in two categories; will collectors enjoy the product and will those looking to cash in on big hits enjoy the chase?
Collectors should love the product. Upper Deck has done a great job migrating players from the past and the future of the NHL.

The Hockey Heroes inserts are show stoppers. They are easy on the eyes and feature greats such as Maurice Richard, Tim Horton, and Teemu Selanne.

Speaking of showstoppers, the Mark Messier canvas featuring Wayne Gretzky and Paul Coffey is a must have for any collector. It is one of the most impressive cards of Extended Series.
Extended Series offers a walk down memory lane as collectors chase the up and coming NHL players.
In this day and age of collecting, the thrill of the financial chase has to be acknowledged when evaluating the strength of a product. The three most commonly sought after cards are the Cooley Young Guns, Fantilli Young Guns, and Bedard Young Guns Canvas.
Cooley's Young Guns currently trades for $35, Fantilli's Young Guns currently trade for $55, and Bedard's Young Guns Canvas currently trades for $300. All prices referenced in the article are USD.

Collectors are beginning to shoot their shots on some of the bigger Bedard hits from Extended Series. A collector has this Red Outburst /25 listed at $200,000. To be clear, this is not a $200,000 card, but it could be worth over $5,000 to the right buyer.
As of writing, there are eight Bedard hits from Extended Series featuring an asking price of $1,000 or greater on eBay. That number is sure to grow substantially this week.
Upper Deck has done a great job with Extended Series because it migrates the collector and those who enjoy the thrill of the chase. Collectors will enjoy seeing legends in the Hockey Heroes and Canvas inserts. Those in it for the thrill of the high value chase will love the opportunity to pull some of the biggest Bedard cards that will hit the market in the month of July.
