The Dallas Stars have released that their opening night contest for the regular season will be against their division rival Minnesota Wild.

The game will be a late one to start the home slate, starting at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 14 against the Wild. A late start means Dallas will feature in a nationally televised game. The season officially starts a week prior to the 14th, meaning Dallas will probably feature several games on the road before finally coming home to the American Airlines Center.

Dallas started last season against the New York Islanders, with Jake Oettinger posting a shutout. This year, the intensity of the matchup will be far greater to start off new head coach Glen Gulutzan's time behind the bench.

The Wild and Stars will also meet twice in the preseason.
