The Dallas Stars keep moving forward with reshaping their organization in preparation for next season, adding skating coach David Pelletier to Glen Gulutzan's staff.

Pelletier spent the past 11 seasons in Edmonton as the skating coach, but moves from the Oilers with Gulutzan to help the Stars in the same role. Pelletier will not be behind the bench, but will work with the team in practice and also watch from above at all games to see what the players need to improve on.
Pelletier did not originally have a hockey background, winning a gold medal as a figure skater in the 2002 Olympics for Canada. The different styles between the two sports give him a perspective on skating styles that many hockey players won't have as much exposure to.
To be able to work on skating with the world's best in Connor McDavid for his entire career will undoubtedly give him a perspective that the Stars need to add another layer to their game. Their goal is to try and do everything to help them get over the hump in their quest to win a Stanley Cup.
Gulutzan still only has two assistant coaches that will help behind the bench, so there is most likely at least one more assistant to be hired before training camp starts in a couple months.
