The Bison dropped both games to the Toledo Walleye in their first weekend. Bloomington forced 24 shots on goal in Saturday's regular-season opener but was unable to find the back of the net. The following night, Bryce Montgomery and Case McCarthy lit the lamp, but the Bison fell 4-2.
Since then, though, both Montgomery and McCarthy have been reassigned to their respective AHL clubs. Meanwhile, goaltender Hugo Ollas, who saw time in the Bison's lone preseason game, was reassigned to the ECHL from the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL).
Scouting The Heartlanders
The Heartlanders were swept by the Fort Wayne Komets last week but picked up a point before falling in overtime in Saturday's series finale.
Five different skaters found the back of the net in Iowa's regular-season opener. Goaltender Kyle McClellan made 32 saves but allowed six goals.
The following night, the Heartlanders pushed just one goal across on a penalty shot as forward Matthew Sop picked up his second goal in as many nights.
