In the lone morning game on Wednesday's ECHL schedule, Iowa Heartlanders forward Yuki Miura scored the game-winner in overtime.

It was School Education Day at the Huntington Center in Toledo. The Iowa Heartlanders were the ones giving out the lessons in a 3-2 overtime win over the Walleye in the only morning contest on Wednesday's ECHL schedule.

Heartlanders forward Yuki Miura potted the game-winning goal 1:11 into overtime, tying the club's all-time points record of 91 set by Zach White.

The victory wasn't easy for Iowa, who had to overcome two different deficits. It was a scoreless first period, with the Heartlanders outshooting Toledo 7-4.

At the 4:06 mark of the second period, Carson Bantle tipped in a Brandon Kruse pass to the front of the net for a 1-0 Walleye lead. Colin Swoyer picked up the secondary helper, while Bantle recorded his 10th goal of the season and fourth in three games.

Brandon Yeamans tied the game for the Heartlanders with 3:23 left in the middle frame after backhanding a redirected puck at the left post. Yeamans has goals in back-to-back games. Jonny Sorenson and Andrew McLean got assists.

Griffin Ness put the Walleye ahead 2-1 at the 3:06 mark of the third for his ninth goal of the season, with Dalton Messina picking up the assist.

Late in the third, Iowa tied the score 2-2 on a power-play tally by T.J. Walsh, who scored his fifth of the season on a chip shot from the right post.

The contest headed to overtime, when Miura scored just over a minute in on a redirect in front of the net.

The goal came under review but was upheld.

With the win, Iowa moves to 10-5-3 on the season, while the Walleye drop to 12-5-3.
