The Adirondack Thunder have acquired the rights to forward Patrick Polino from the Cincinnati Cyclones in exchange for the rights to forward Tristan Ashbrook.
The 29-year-old Buffalo, New York native spent the last three seasons with Cincinnati, finishing third on the team with 23 goals and 35 assists for 58 points in 72 games in 2023-24.
Over 170 career regular-season ECHL games with the Cyclones, Polino has 54 goals and 82 assists for 136 points.
Polino also played in 36 AHL games with Rochester and Providence, posting nine points (5-4-9).
Prior to turning pro, the right-shooting forward played four seasons at NCAA (D1) Rensselaer Polytechnical Institute, tallying 52 points (24-28-52) in 131 games. He served as an assistant captain during his senior year, playing in all 34 games and scoring 19 points (11-8-19). He was second on the team in goals and blocked 18 shots.
Before RPI, Polino attended Canisius High School (2009-11) and St. Francis (2011-13). He played youth hockey in the USHL for the Chicago Steel and Lincoln Stars, serving as captain on both teams.
In Polino, the Thunder are getting an experienced, versatile forward who can not only give the club some scoring punch but is able to play on both special-teams units.
“(He) is a legitimate top-six forward on the right side,” Thunder head coach Pete MacArthur said of Polino following the announcement of his signing.
