Josh Boyer is returning to the Bloomington Bison for next season.
Head coach Phillip Barski announced that the team has signed the forward to an ECHL standard player contract for 2025-26.
The 25-year-old Boyer was acquired from the Atlanta Gladiators on Dec. 3. He tallied 18 points (11-7-18) and 38 penalty minutes in 48 games with the Bison.
Boyer has the longest goal streak in Bison team history, tallying a goal in four straight games from Dec. 29 to Jan. 8.
With the Gladiators last season, Boyer appeared in 11 games, registering four penalty minutes.
The Wasilla, Alaska native dressed in 37 games as the captain of St. Lawrence University in 2024-25, posting nine points (3-6-9). Immediately following his collegiate season, Boyer turned pro. He competed in eight games with the Gladiators, tallying one goal and one assist.
The 6-foot-3, 201-pound right-shot center skated in 141 career NCAA games between St. Lawrence University and University of Nebraska-Omaha. Over that span, he recorded 29 points (14-15-29).
The Bison will open their second season in the ECHL on Saturday, Oct. 18 against the Iowa Heartlanders at Grossinger Motors Arena. Puck drop is set for 7 Pm CT.
