The ECHL released the 72-game schedule for the 2024-25 regular season in its entirety on Tuesday. Let's look at some of the major takeaways, including the home openers for the Bloomington Bison and Tahoe Knight Monsters.

    Opening Night

The ECHL will open the 2024-25 season on Friday, October 18, with 16 teams kicking off their schedules. Idaho goes up against Utah, Savannah takes on Indy, Trois-Rivières hosts Reading, Iowa matches up with Fort Wayne, Greenville faces Orlando, Norfolk welcomes in Adirondack, Maine takes on Wheeling, and Wichita hosts Kansas City.

    You Must Be New Here

Two new teams will make their ECHL debuts in 2024-25. The Bloomington Bison will kick off its season with a two-game homestand beginning Saturday, October 19 against the Toledo Walleye. Meanwhile, the Tahoe Knights Monsters will make their ECHL debut on Thursday, October 24, hosting the Jacksonville Icemen.

    Divisional Changes

With Bloomington and Tahoe entering the fold this season, the Bison will be part of the Central Division, while the Knight Monsters will join the Mountain Division. Wheeling, who was part of the Central, moves to the North Division.

    Give Me Fuel

The Indy Fuel will have perhaps the most challenging start to the season, with 15 straight road games to open the 2024-25 schedule. The Fuel's new home, Fishers Event Center, is expected to be ready for Indy's first home game on Friday, December 6, against the Iowa Heartlanders.

    Potential Banner Raising

Will the Florida Everblades celebrate a third straight Kelly Cup championship, or will Kansas City hoist its first? Regardless of how the 2024 Kelly Cup Finals play out, Florida could be looking at a banner-raising ceremony for its first home game on Friday, October 25. Likewise, Kansas City could potentially raise its first banner in front of the home crowd on Saturday, October 19.
