

Koch, Johnson Named ECHL Player and Goaltender of the Week
Davis Koch of the Iowa Heartlanders is the Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week for Nov. 13-19, while Cam Johnson of the Florida Everblades is the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Nov. 13-19. It is the third time in his career that he has received the weekly honor.
Koch scored five goals and added one assist for six points in three games against Utah last week.
The 25-year-old had one goal in a 3-2 win on Wednesday, tallied three points (2g-1a) in a 4-0 victory on Friday and notched a pair of goals in a 3-2 win on Saturday.
A native of Surrey, British Columbia, Koch leads the Heartlanders with seven goals and 12 points in 12 games this season.
Koch spent the previous four seasons in Germany, totaling 102 points (36g-66a) in 168 games in the DEL and DEL-2.
Prior to turning pro, Koch recorded 255 points (91g-164a) in 319 career Western Hockey League games with Vancouver and Edmonton.
Johnson went 3-0-0 with a 1.33 goals-against average and a save percentage of .954 in three appearances last week.
THNThe 29-year-old made 35 saves in a 4-1 win at Orlando on Wednesday, turned aside 25 shots in a 6-2 victory over Atlanta on Friday and stopped 27 shots in a 3-1 win against the Gladiators on Saturday.
Under contract to Charlotte of the American Hockey League, Johnson is 5-4-0 in nine appearances this season with a 3.04 goals-against average and a save percentage of .907.
A native of Troy, Michigan, Johnson is 64-38-11 in 117 career ECHL appearances with Florida and Adirondack with eight shutouts, a 2.58 goals-against average and a save percentage of .914. He has received the June M. Kelly Playoffs Most Valuable Player in each of the previous two seasons as he has helped lead the Everblades to back-to-back Kelly Cup titles. In 53 career AHL appearances with Charlotte, Cleveland and Binghamton, Johnson is 18-25-8 with one shutout.
Prior to turning pro, Johnson appeared in 102 career games at the University of North Dakota posting an overall record of 56-26-12 with 12 shutouts, a 2.10 goals-against average and a save percentage of .914.
Jerseys & Format Unveiled for All-Star Classic
The ECHL, in conjunction with the Savannah Ghost Pirates, announced today the game format and unveiled the jerseys for the 2024 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic, presented by Gulfstream. The event takes place at Enmarket Arena on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024.
In this year’s All-Star event, the host Savannah Ghost Pirates will take on a team of ECHL All-Stars representing the other teams in the League, as well as feature several Skills events which will count as a goal towards the winning Player’s team score. The 2024 ECHL All-Star Skills Competition will take place between periods of the game, with results counting towards the cumulative score. The first two periods of the game will be 5-on-5 while the final period will consist of 3-on-3.
Northland HockeyAll-Star players will be announced in January 2024 following a vote of ECHL coaching staffs, captains, and media.
The jerseys that both teams will wear in the All-Star Classic were also unveiled today. The ECHL All-Stars will wear white jerseys featuring the 2024 All-Star Classic logo, while the Ghost Pirates will wear a black jersey featuring an outline of the state of Georgia and the letters SAV.
The Ghost Pirates will also wear a black warm-up jersey featuring Ghost Pirates’ green and a set of eyes. All of the jerseys were produced by Athletic Knit, the exclusive jersey provider of the ECHL.
