Solar Bears forward D-Jay Jerome has been suspended for two games following an illegal check to the head during the pre-season

The ECHL Player Safety Department has handed down its first suspension of the new season. 

Orlando Solar Bears prospect D-Jay Jerome has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of an illegal check to the head during a preseason game on October 12th.

Jerome was assessed a match penalty for the infraction, with the suspension and fine handed down under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

He will miss Orlando's preseason game tonight against the Florida Everblades, as well as their regular-season own opener on October 19th, again against the Everblades.
