After coming to Orlando in a trade last season, Kurt Gosselin is returning to the Bears in 2024-25.

The Orlando Solar Bears announced they have agreed to terms with defenseman Kurt Gosselin on an ECHL standard player contract for the 2024-25 season.

The 29-year-old native of Brighton, Michigan is in his fifth ECHL season and has totaled 22 goals and 33 assists for 55 points and accumulated 140 penalty minutes in 147 regular season games with the Bears, Cincinnati Cyclones, Kalamazoo Wings, Toledo Walleye and Reading Royals.

The Bears acquired the 6-foot-1 blueliner in a trade with Reading last season. Gosselin also had a brief stint in the AHL, where he appeared in eight games for the Rochester Americans during the 2018-19 season, picking up three assists.

Gosselin played his collegiate hockey at the University of Alabama-Huntsville, recording 58 points (20-38-58) in 118 games. Following the 2016-17 season, Gosselin was named to the WCHA Third All-Star Team.

Gosselin spent his junior hockey career in the BCHL with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs from 2012-15 and scored 89 points (26-63-89) over 122 games. He was named BCHL First-Team All-Star during the 2014-15 season.

As of Wednesday, the Solar Bears have two forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender on their roster, so more signings will follow in the coming weeks.
