The Walleye and Stingrays stayed hot, the Grizzlies continued their home skid, while an Admirals goaltender received a call-up to the National Hockey League.
Norfolk Admirals starter Yaniv Perets has been called to the show.
Perets, 23, compiled a 5-5-1 record with the Admirals this season, with a 2.38 GAA, .916 SP and a shutout.
He put together a solid 34-4-3 record in the 2022-23 season with Quinnipiac of the NCAA, compiling a 1.49 GAA and .931 SP with a whopping 10 shutouts in 41 games.
The Hurricanes, recently sending Antti Raanta to the AHL's Chicago Wolves, will ride with the tandem of Prets (in a back-up role) and 24-year-old Pyotr Kochetkov while Frederik Andersen is on the IR.
In some miscellaneous team news and notes from around the ECHL, the Atlanta Gladiators, who began the season with an 8-0 streak, have dropped to nine straight losses with their defeats at the hands of the Icemen and Swamp Rabbits over the weekend. The club is 1-14 since the hot start to the season.
The Toledo Walleye and South Carolina Stingrays are both white-hot. The Walleye won three straight matchups against the Iowa Heartlanders this past weekend, moving to 10-1-1 on the road.
The Stingrays are the hottest active team in the ECHL with a 9-1 record in their past 10 games, defeating Greenville on Friday and Jacksonville on Saturday.
Conversely, the Utah Grizzlies continued their appalling stretch on visitor ice. The Grizzlies dropped a 3-2 decision on the road in Fort Wayne on Saturday and again with a 6-3 L on Sunday, staying winless on the road with a 0-10 record.
Sunday's scheduled contest between the Orlando Solar Bears and Florida Everblades did not proceed as scheduled.
A power outage in the Bears' arena due to a storm the previous evening led to what the club described as "unsafe conditions for both teams".
The game was postponed to a future date to be determined.
