The Florida Everblades have advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals for the third consecutive year.

The Florida Everblades topped the Orlando Solar Bears, 2-1 in overtime, in a tightly-contested Game 5 on Saturday night.

Everblades goaltender Cam Johnson made 27 saves on 28 shots and earned his eighth win of the playoffs. Bobo Carpenter's two goals, including the game-winning goal at the 13:56 mark of overtime, proved pivotal in securing the win.

With the win, the Everblades advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the third consecutive year.

Carpenter's first goal was scored at the 11:46 mark of the first period and assisted by Cole Moberg. At the end of the first period, Florida had a 10-6 shots on goal advantage and held a 1-0 lead.

Orlando's Mitchell Hoelscher tied the game with 51 seconds left in the second period, his third goal of the series. The third period saw both teams tighten up defensively, resulting in only 10 shots on goal. The game was tied at 1-1 after 60 minutes of play before Carpenter's game-winning goal in the extra session.

The Everblades will face the winner of the Adirondack and Norfolk in the Eastern Conference Finals.
