The ECHL Department of Player Safety announced on Monday that the Florida Everblades’ Jesse Lansdell has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in Saturday's series-clinching win over the Orlando Solar Bears.
Lansdell is fined and suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline as the result of his major penalty and game misconduct for slashing at 9:51 of the first period.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.
The Everblades clinched the South Division title Saturday with a 3-1 victory over the Solar Bears, taking the best-of-seven series in five games. It marked Florida's 14th consecutive post-season series win.
The Everblades are awaiting the outcome of the Trois-Rivieres Lions-Norfolk Admirals series to determine who they will face in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Lions currently lead that series 3-2, with Game 6 Tuesday in Trois-Rivieres.
