Perets' steady hand and unwavering composure have earned him Goaltender of the Week. Discover how consistency fuels his championship aspirations.

For Yaniv Perets, success this season hasn’t come from one standout moment: it’s been built on consistency, composure, and a growing confidence between the pipes.

Perets was recognized on April 13, 2026, when Perets was named ECHL Goaltender of the Week, a nod to his impact for the Reading Royals during a pivotal stretch of the season. It is the second time the netminder has been recognized this season.

Perets’ game is defined less by flash and more by control. Whether tracking pucks through traffic or shutting down second-chance opportunities, the 26 year old netminder has developed into a calming presence in net: one his teammates have come to rely on night after night.

It’s a role he’s embraced while balancing time between the ECHL and the American Hockey League with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The back-and-forth can be challenging for any player, but for Perets, it’s become part of his growth.

His Goaltender of the Week honors were just one chapter in what has become a defining stretch. Not long after, Perets turned in a pair of shutouts against Norfolk, including a 37-save performance that underscored his ability to take over a game when needed.

Moments like those don’t just happen—they’re the product of preparation, patience, and trust in the process. For Perets, that process is clearly paying off.

As the Royals continue their push through the season and head into the post season, Perets’ presence in net could prove to be a difference-maker. If his recent play is any indication, he’s not just finding his rhythm, he’s setting the standard.
