After playing in 45 games with the Thunder, Mike Gillespie is returning to the team for this upcoming season.

The Adirondack Thunder have announced they re-signed forward Mike Gillespie to a standard player contract for the 2024-25 season.

The right-shooting 28-year-old Gillespie tallied six goals and 12 assists for 18 points in 45 regular-season games with the Thunder. Prior to coming to Adirondack, Gillespie played in 40 games with the Birmingham Bulls of the SPHL and totaled 65 points (30-35-65).

Prior to turning pro, the New City, New York native played NCAA Division III hockey with SUNY Oswego, where he netted 74 points (23-51-74) in 76 games.

Gillespie offers the Thunder versatility, with proven skills on both the penalty-kill and power-play units and can play up and down the lineup, according to head coach Pete MacArthur.

"We are so excited to see him come back and continue to progress at the ECHL level," MacArthur said.
