Serensits joins the Goatheads after spending last season with the Trois-Rivières Lions, appearing in 46 regular-season games. The signing reunites Serensits with Head Coach Zack Stortini, who coached the veteran defenseman during the 2019-20 season with the Ontario Hockey League's Sudbury Wolves.

"Emmett stood out because of the type of person he is. He is a high-character individual who competes the right way, puts the team first, and brings tremendous work ethic every day. We are thrilled to have Emmett as part of the Goatheads family."

The Ontario native begins his second professional season following an accomplished collegiate career at the University of Toronto.

Over four seasons with the Varsity Blues, Serensits appeared in 97 career games, recording 45 points and was captain his senior year.

Before joining the University of Toronto, Serensits spent three seasons with the OHL's Sudbury Wolves, where he played in 187 games and totaled 49 points (6 goals, 43 assists). He also wore an alternate captain's "A" during the 2019-20 season under Stortini.

Serensits brings experience, leadership, and reliability to the Goatheads' inaugural roster as the organization continues to build toward its first season in franchise history.

The Avalanche Affiliate opens their inaugural season on Friday, Oct. 16, when they host the Idaho Steelheads at the Rio Rancho Events Center.
