The Allen Americans have added another blueliner to their pre-season roster. The club announced the signing of defenseman Hudson Wilson for the 2024-2025 season.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Wilson will play his first professional game in the U.S. this season in an Americans sweater. He appeared in two games in Poland prior to signing with Allen, picking up an assist.
A native of Toronto, Wilson played 30 games at Acadia University, where he totaled four points (2-2-4), 28 penalty minutes and a +2 rating.
Prior to his time in collegiate hockey, the left-shooting defenseman played five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League. He spent three full seasons with the Ottawa 67’s, where he was a teammate of Anthony Costantini, brother of Americans netminder Marco Costantini. Hudson also spent time with the OHL’s Peterborough Petes.
Hudson will be with Allen when the club opens their 16th training camp in October. The Americans will play their lone preseason game against the Tulsa Oilers on October 11 in Tarrant County at the NYTEX Sports Centre.
The regular season opener will be in Tulsa on Thursday, October 24 with an early morning game. Home-opening weekend is on Friday and Saturday, October 25 & 26 when the Americans welcome the Kansas City Mavericks to North Texas for a two-game weekend series.
