
After three outstanding performances this past week, Hunter Vorva of the Kalamazoo Wings was selected as the Warrior Hockey/ECHL Goaltender of the Week for March 3-9, the league announced Monday.

It’s the second time in Vorva’s career he has won the weekly honor.
Vorva posted a 2-0-0 mark for the week with one shutout, a 0.88 goals-against average and .971 save percentage in three appearances.
The 29-year-old netminder made 19 saves in Kalamazoo’s 5-2 victory over the Atlanta Gladiators last Friday. He turned aside all eight shots he faced in a relief appearance during a 6-4 loss to the Gladiators Saturday and stopped all 41 shots in a 3-0 shutout at Fort Wayne on Sunday.
The Kalamazoo native has appeared in 12 games for the K-Wings this season, going 6-2-1 with one shutout, a 2.30 GAA and .930 SP.
In 75 career ECHL appearances with Kalamazoo, Vorva has a 39-25-4 record with five shutouts, a 2.52 GAA and .921 SP. He’s also seen action in 35 games with Huntsville of the SPHL, posting a 22-10-2 mark with three shutouts, a 2.15 GAA and .928 SP. He was named SPHL Goaltender of the Year in 2021-22.
Vorva spent five seasons playing college hockey with Aurora University, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and Marian University.
The K-Wings will travel to Fishers, Ind. to face the Indy Fuel on Friday. Puck drop is set for 7 Pm ET.
