The Florida Everblades topped the Kansas City Mavericks, 4-1, in Game 4 of the ECHL Kelly Cup Finals on Friday night. 

Florida opened the scoring on a shorthanded goal at the 11:25 mark of the first period and doubled their lead just 45 seconds into the second. Kansas City scored less than six minutes later to bring the Mavericks back within a goal. However, the Everblades pulled away in the third period, scoring twice, including the empty-netter from Bobo Carpenter. 

With the win, the Florida Everblades take a 3-1 series lead and are one win away from their third straight Kelly Cup championship.

#20 Oliver Chau, F

Oliver Chau can do no wrong right now, recording his ninth goal of the playoffs and seventh in his last five games. Despite being on the penalty kill, the Everblades forward led a rush up ice before pulling up in the right-wing circle and wristing a shot into the Kansas City net. With a secondary assist on Joe Pendenza's goal, Chau also collected his eighth multi-point postseason game, finishing with a team-high +3 plus/minus rating and two shots on goal.

#4 Will Reilly, D

Florida defensemen have been so key to the Everblades' success this postseason, and Friday night was no different. Will Reilly found the back of the net for the first time since Game 1 of the South Division Finals against Orlando. Reilly's goal, a wrister from the left-wing circle, came at a pivotal point in the game to restore Florida's two-goal lead.

#33 Cam Johnson, G

Cam Johnson looks poised to collect his third straight postseason MVP award. The Florida goaltender allowed just one goal on 18 shots, marking the 18th straight postseason game in which he has allowed three or fewer goals. Johnson stood tall in the first period when the Everblades got into some penalty trouble and were outshot 8-4 in the frame.

#6 Justin MacPherson, D

MacPherson picked a great time to tally his first goal of the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Mavericks defenseman skated behind the Florida defense and wired a wrister from the right-wing circle to make it a one-goal game in the second period. MacPherson finished with a +1 plus/minus rating and two shots on goal.
