    Mavericks forward Max Andreev, Wade Murphy of the Steelheads and Swamp Rabbits goaltender Ryan Bednard earn ECHL monthly honors for November

    Kansas City Mavericks’ forward Max Andreev has been named the Howies Hockey Tape ECHL Rookie of the Month for November, Idaho Steelheads forward Wade Murphy wins Player of the Month, while Ryan Bednard of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits has been named the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month.

    Andreev scored four goals and added 11 assists for 15 points in 12 games during the month. The 25-year-old tallied at least one point in 10 of his 12 games in November. 

    Andreev had four multi-point games, including a three-point game (1g-2a) on Nov. 10 at Allen. Under contract to Coachella Valley of the American Hockey League, Andreev leads ECHL rookies, and is tied for second overall, with 24 points (5g-19a) in 18 games this season.

    Prior to turning pro, Andreev recorded 75 points (22g-53a) in 99 career games at Cornell University while adding 43 points (12g-31a) in 56 games with Central Illinois of the United States Hockey League during the 2017-18 season.


    Wade Murphy of the Idaho Steelheads has been named the Warrior Hockey ECHL Player of the Month for November.

    Murphy scored eight goals and added 13 assists for 21 points in 13 games, helping the Steelheads to an 11-1-1 record during the month.

    The 30-year-old notched at least one point in 11 of his 13 games, including seven multi-point games. Murphy had three points in three different games in November, scoring a pair of goals and adding an assist on Nov. 1 against Wichita and Nov. 22 at Rapid City and scoring a goal and adding two assists on Nov. 4 against Wichita.

    A native of Victoria, British Columbia, Murphy is tied for second in the ECHL with 24 points (10g-14a) in 17 games this season.

    Murphy has totaled 119 points (48g-71a) in 191 career ECHL games with Idaho, Kalamazoo, Maine, Worcester, Greenville and Manchester. He added 23 points (5g-18a) in 38 games in Austria during the 2021-22 season.

    Prior to turning pro, Murphy recorded 24 points (9g-15a) in 66 career collegiate games at the University of North Dakota and Arizona State University.


    Bednard went 5-0-0 with one shutout, a 1.58 goals-against average and a save percentage of .954 in five appearances during the month.

    The 26-year-old allowed two goals or less in four of his five appearances while making 38 or more saves in three different games. He set a Swamp Rabbits’ all-time record with his seventh shutout for the club on Nov. 25, stopping all 24 shots in a 5-0 win at Atlanta.

    Under contract to Ontario of the American Hockey League, Bednard is 7-0-0 for Greenville this season and leads the ECHL with a 1.84 goals-against average and a .945 save percentage.

    Ryan Bednard 

    A native of Macomb, Michigan, Bednard has seen action in 125 career ECHL games with Greenville, Wheeling and South Carolina, compiling an overall record of 64-45-13 with nine shutouts, a 2.74 goals-against average and a save percentage of .912. 

    He has also appeared in 17 career American Hockey League games with Belleville, Grand Rapids, Hershey, Syracuse and Springfield, going 7-8-1 with one shutout, a 2.83 goals-against average and a save percentage of .911.  

    Prior to turning pro, Bednard appeared in 68 career games at Bowling Green State University where he posted an overall record of 39-19-8 with seven shutouts, a 2.06 goals-against average and a save percentage of .918. He also saw action in 40 career games with Youngstown in the United States Hockey League.
