Fort Wayne Komets left winger Ethan Keppen has been recalled by the Bakersfield Condors of the American Hockey League.
The Komets have also loaned defenseman Kyle Mayhew to the Condors.
Keppen, 23, has skated in 41 games for the Komets, scoring 14 goals while adding 24 assists. He’s also tied with Jack Dugan for the club lead in road goals (10).
The 6-foot-2, 203-pound left-shot forward is known for his leadership and bullish presence on the ice. In 40 games with the Komets last season, he put up 26 points (14-12-26).
Prior to his arrival with the Komets, Keppen played 24 games with the Maine Mariners,, totaling 16 points (4-12-16). He also appeared in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack last season and Charlotte Checkers in 2022-23.
The 27-year-old Mayhew has appeared in 60 games for the Komets, scoring 11 goals and 41 assists. He currently leads the ECHL in scoring among defensemen with 52 points and paces the Komets in home assists with 24.
The 5-foot-8, 161-pound left-shot blueliner also leads the ECHL in power-play points (27) and assists (22).
With two wins last weekend, the Komets are now seven points away from clinching a spot in the Kelly Cup Playoffs with 12 games remaining in the regular season. The team travels to Iowa for three games this weekend. Fort Wayne is 2-0-0 versus the Heartlanders in 2024-25.
