Having been with the Trois-Rivières Lions since the club's inception, Alex Cousineau is getting a well-deserved promotion.

Spire Hockey, the group that owns the Trois-Rivières Lions, announced that they have promoted Alex Cousineau to the position of executive vice president.

Cousineau previously held the position of vice president of business development. He will now oversee all administrative aspects surrounding the team while continuing to support hockey operations.

“We are thrilled to promote Alex to executive vice president and believe strongly in his leadership and vision for the Lions organization,” Ian Gentile, president of Spire Hockey, said in a statement. “Spire Hockey looks forward to the October 18 home opener and is excited to have someone like Alex lead all administrative aspects of the team while continuing to support general manager and head coach Ron Choules in hockey operations.”

This is a well-deserved promotion for Cousineau, who has been part of the Lions organization since its inception at the start of the 2021-22 season. At that time, he held the positions of hockey operations coordinator, goalie coach and video coach.

The Lions have been owned by the Spire Hockey group since the end of April 2024. The club, which plays at the Colisée Vidéotron, is affiliated with the Montreal Canadiens (NHL) and the Laval Rocket (AHL).
