After spending the past two years in Tahoe, Greensboro and Fort Wayne, Logan Nelson is back in Rapid City for next season.
Nelson left Rapid city during expansion two years ago and signed with Tahoe. He then went to Greensboro and was named Captain in the 2025-2026 season. His stint did not last long as he was traded to Fort Wayne in March.
Now that he is once again a Rush, Nelson is the club’s leader in points and assists (since becoming an ECHL team). This will be his third stint with Rapid City but since his top three producing season have been there, this could be a good turnaround for Nelson.
Nelson gave a statement about being grateful for going back to in South Dakota.
I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to come back and wear the Rush jersey again... My family and I couldn’t be more excited to be back in the Black Hills. I’m incredibly grateful to be back with the Spire ownership group; they run a first-class organization that my family and I are extremely grateful to be a part of. I look forward to helping out in any way I can to help get this team back into the playoffs! Cheers, Rapid City. Can’t wait to see you in October.
The Rush kick of the 2026-2027 season with a home game versus Kansas City on October 23rd at 7:05pm.
