The club will pay tribute to its historic run to the Kelly Cup Finals last season with a special tribute during Saturday's game.

The 2023-24 season was a landmark one for the Kansas City Mavericks.

The club raced to its best-ever regular-season record, won the Western Conference and Mountain Division, captured the Brabham Cup and made it all the way to the Kelly Cup Finals.

On Saturday, the Mavericks will celebrate the historic season with a special Banner Ceremony during their game against the Tulsa Oilers at Cable Dahmer Arena.

Three new banners will be displayed to commemorate the remarkable run: a Western Conference Championship banner, one for the Brabham Cup and another for the division title.

When the 2024 post-season arrived, Kansas City looked like the team that could prevent the Florida Everblades from winning an historic third consecutive Kelly Cup Championship.

The Mavericks swept Tulsa in the first round, took care of business against the defending conference champion Idaho Steelheads in the Mountain Division Finals and eliminated Toledo in the Western Conference Finals.

The Everblades, however, proved to be too much, taking out the Mavericks in five games.

Still, it was an impressive season. The club’s 13 post-season wins set a new franchise record. The conference title was the first in the team’s 14-year history, and the 54 wins were the most in team history.

The Mavericks will honor that special year during the first intermission on Saturday with a tribute video. The Brabham Cup (Regular-Season Champions) and Bruce Taylor Trophy (Western Conference Champions) will both be on display.

Puck drop for Saturday is 6:05 Pm CT.
