Veteran goaltender and former Olympian Kevin Poulin has announced his retirement from professional hockey.

Olympic bronze medalist and longtime goalie Kevin Poulin has announced his retirement from pro hockey.

“After 13 years playing pro hockey all over the world and spending the last two years playing here at home, I am proud to announce my retirement,” Poulin said in an Instagram post. “I would like to thank my family, teammates, coaches, fans and everyone who was involved in the making. My younger self would be proud of my career and for accomplishing so many dreams of mine.

“I’m ready to leave the game behind and know it’s not gonna be easy but I will always be grateful for the memories, opportunities and connections it gave me and for making me a better man.”

Poulin, who played eight games for the ECHL's Lions in 2021-22, will perhaps be best known for backstopping Team Canada to a bronze medal in the 2018 Olympics, finishing the tournament with two shutouts, a 2.25 GAA and .904 save percentage.

He spent time across the National Hockey, League and American Hockey League, with extensive experience playing overseas.
