Beyond game-night broadcasts, Tim Foley’s storytelling and community initiatives have transformed the Railers' visibility.

Worcester Railers made history for the first time yesterday. Tim Foley, Broadcasting & Media Relations Coordinator for the Railers, was awarded the ECHL Media/PR Director of the Year award. This award is given every year to recognize the ECHL's top media and public relations personnel.

Foley has completed his fourth year as the Railers Broadcasting and Media Relations Coordinator, and his fifth season overall with Worcester. Throughout the 2025-2026 season, Foley played a major role in making the Railers more visible in Central Massachusetts. He always provides consistent coverage, whether through television, radio, print, or digital media. Foley's work often extends beyond game nights. He showcased community initiatives. He was part of the Railers' "Month of Giving" program and the partnership with America's VetDogs.

Foley was one of five finalists for the Joe Babik Award. He was in company with representatives from the Atlanta Gladiators, Rapid City Rush, Wichita Thunder, and Cincinnati Cyclones. This award is one of the ECHL's most respected awards and is voted on by the ECHL broadcasters and media relations. It recognizes excellence in promoting teams, players, and the league while maintaining relationships with the fanbase and the media.

This was a successful offseason for the Railers. They received nominations for the Community Service Team of the Year, Most Creative Revenue Generation of the Year, and Corporate Partnerships Professional of the Year. The Railers have always been recognized for their community impact. Foley's honor shines a spotlight on someone who works hard behind the scenes and tells the story of the organization and the players.

Connecting with fans in the ECHL plays an important role throughout the year. Foley has made a consistent effort over the years to help push the Railers' brand, not only locally but across the ECHL. With this award on his résumé, he will now be recognized as one of the premier communications professionals within minor league hockey.
