The Rapid City Rush, along with the ECHL, announced Tuesday that forward Blake Bennett has been named the Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 17-23.

The 26-year-old Bennett scored four goals and two assists for six points in three games for the Rush last week.
Bennett helped Rapid City sweep the Utah Grizzlies on the road. He posted two assists on Feb. 21, scored a power-play goal on Feb. 22 and saved his best for the series finale on Feb. 23 with a hat trick. It was the second hatty of his career.
The native of Grand Island, N.Y. re-joined the Rush Jan. 14 after starting the season in Denmark and Germany.
Bennett, who set Rapid City’s ECHL-era goals record as a rookie last year, is off to an even better pace in 2024-25. In 16 games, he has tallied 23 points. Nobody in the league has scored more goals than Bennett (12) since his return.
This week’s award is the third for the Rush this season and second Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week nomination. Brett Davis earned the award Nov. 19, 2024 and Matt Radomsky picked up Goaltender of the Week honors February 10.
On behalf of Blake Bennett, a case of pucks will be donated by Inglasco to a Rapid City youth hockey organization.
