Orlando completed a trade with the Fort Wayne Komets and released three players on Monday.

The Orlando Solar Bears made several roster moves Monday as they prepare for the start of the ECHL regular season this weekend.

The club announced they have completed a trade with the Fort Wayne Komets, acquiring forward Randy Hernandez in exchange for cash considerations.

Hernandez will be making his professional hockey debut after spending three seasons at Canisius College and one year at Robert Morris University.

The 25-year-old Miami, Florida native tallied 29 goals and 43 assists in 111 NCAA games over four seasons between the two clubs.

During his time at Robert Morris, Hernandez was named Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) Rookie of the Year after posting 11 goals and 14 assists in 24 games during the 2020-21 season.

The 6-foot, 190-pound forward earned an AJHL Championship as a member of the 2018-19 Brooks Bandits, that also featured current Solar Bears forward Ryan Mahshie.

The Solar Bears also announced that forwards Thomas Belgarde and Janis Vizbelis, along with defenseman Gabriel Belley-Pelletier have been released.

Belgarde agreed to terms on an ECHL Standard Player Contract with Orlando in September after playing for Tours of the second France professional league (Division I) during the 2023-24 season. He scored 26 points (12-14-26) in 26 regular season games.

Vizbelis is coming off four years of college hockey at Elmira College (NCAA Div. III) scoring 86 points (45-41-86) in 94 games. During the 2021-22 season, the Riga, Latvia native was named New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Third Team All-Conference.

Belley-Pelletier also played for Tours (France2), scoring eight points (1-7-8) and recording 33 penalty minutes in 24 games last season. The Saint-Pascal, Quebec native has previous experience in the ECHL, appearing in 16 games for Fort Wayne and Trois-Rivières during the 2021-22 season.
