The South Carolina Stingrays announced Wednesday that defenseman Romain Rodzinski has been recognized as the AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for March.
South Carolina went 13-1 in March, and Rodzinski played a major role in that stretch. The blueliner led the league with a plus-minus rating of +24 during the month.
Rodzinski posted an even or better rating in 13 of 14 games. He was a +4 on March 3 at Orlando and March 14 at Atlanta, a +3 on March 23 against Jacksonville, and a +2 in five games.
A native of Blainville, Quebec, Rodzinski is a +26 overall on the season and has posted 22 points (8-14-22) in 42 games this season, split between the Stingrays and the Idaho Steelheads.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Rodzinski was acquired by the Stingrays from the Steelheads in a trade in February and has recorded at least one point in 10 of his last 11 games.
Rodzinski has totaled 35 points (11-24-35) in 82 career ECHL games with the Stingrays and Steelheads.
Before turning pro, Rodzinski tallied four assists in five games at Concordia University and 41 points (8-33-41) in 178 games with Quebec, Cape Breton, and Chicoutimi of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League.
In recognition of his accomplishment, AMI Graphics will present Romain Rodzinski with a personalized Plus Performer of the Month Banner during an on-ice ceremony at an upcoming Stingrays home game.
The Stingrays extended their win streak to thirteen games last weekend and currently sit in first place in the entire ECHL with 101 points. They earned their 48th victory of the season last Saturday, tying the franchise single-season wins record set in the 2017-18 season.
South Carolina is back in action on Saturday night as they return to home ice for their final home game of the regular season against the Orlando Solar Bears. It will be Fan Appreciation Night at North Charleston Coliseum, presented by Amped Electric.
Puck drop is set for 6:05 Pm ET. Doors will open at 5 Pm, and the first 1,000 fans in the building will receive a Jason Fitzsimmons bobblehead. Parking will be free for everyone.
