Casey Dornbach joins the Toledo Walleye for the 2024-25 season after tallying 42 points for the Iowa Heartlanders last year.

The Toledo Walleye have signed forward Casey Dornbach for the upcoming 2024-25 season. The 27-year-old tallied 13 goals and 42 points in 55 games with the Iowa Heartlanders last year. Dornbach also skated in 11 games with the AHL's Iowa Wild, scoring two points on one goal and one assist.

Prior to the 2023-24 campaign, Dornbach signed with the Wild as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Denver. As a senior, the forward recorded 34 points on 13 goals and 21 assists in 40 games.

While on the surface, the Walleye signing Dornbach looks like a solid addition. It has the potential to be a massive signing.

Considering how much Toledo lost overseas this summer, including rookie sensation Riley Sawchuk, bringing in a guy like Dornbach addresses some -- not all -- of the scoring lost.

The Walleye have brought back key players such as Brandon Kruse, Trenton Bliss, Conlan Keenan, Sam Craggs, and ECHL MVP Brandon Hawkins. Adding Dornbach to the mix feels like a breakout season for the Denver standout.
