The Thunder will be kicking off their 33rd season of hockey in the Air Capital and 11th as a member of the ECHL. The schedule opens with a matchup against the Kansas City Mavericks on Friday, October 18. It will mark the second consecutive year the two teams open the season in Wichita. They will then head north to close out Opening Weekend in Independence, Missouri at Cable Dahmer Arena on October 19.

Other schedule highlights include another home meeting with the Mavericks on the Thunder's annual Education Day game Wednesday, November 13 at 10:30 Am. Over the Thanksgiving Holiday, the Worcester Railers will make their first appearance in franchise history at Intrust Bank Arena for a three-game series.

The majority of the Thunder's schedule will be made up of division rivals, with the addition of the expansion Tahoe Knight Monsters. The most games against one opponent is 13 against the Americans, followed by Kansas City (10 times) and nine meetings apiece with the Rapid City Rush and Utah Grizzlies.

Wichita will close out the regular season with a first-ever trip to lake Tahoe for a three-game series against the Knight Monsters starting April 9.
