Thunder fans can get closer to their team this season by adopting their favorite player.

Fans are always looking to get closer with their favorite team or player. Sure, it's great to attend the games and buy the merch, but what if you could actually build a connection with the players you root so hard for each season?

The Wichita Thunder hope to do just that with the introduction of their Adopt-A-Player program.

Fans can place bids on one of five players each week through an online silent auction. Simply fill out a form and choose the player you'd like to bid on. The club will update the highest bids on a daily basis.

The winning bidder gets the following:

  • Thunder Players who are adopted will wear a specially designed patch on our jersey with the name of the adopting fan(s) on the patch.
  • The fan(s) will be recognized on our website.
  • The adopting "fan(s)" will receive an autographed stick, a 2024-25 puck, a picture and the name plate from the players locker.
  • At the conclusion of the season, adopting "fan(s)" will also receive their player's game used jersey.

Fans also get additional perks, which include:

  • Locker room Tour & Meet and Greet(s): Each family will have access to a behind the scenes tour of the INTRUST Bank Arena along with a meet and greet with their player. One Private meet and greet with their player on a date TBD.
  • Game Night Recognition: Each family will be recognized on the INTRUST Bank Arena video board during a Thunder home game.
  • Dinner with the player: Each family will have the ability to purchase and enjoy dinner with their player at a predetermined location on a specific date.
  • Ability to give road trip gift bags for players when they are away from INTRUST.

If a player is injured but remains on the team, the adopting family will remain with that player. Should a player be traded, the adopting family will automatically receive the incoming player. If a player is waived and not replaced, the adopted family will receive a player's authentic jersey and will be allowed to continue attending all special events.
