
After two seasons in the ECHL, forward Simon Kubicek is returning to his native Czechia for the 2024-25 season. The 22-year-old is set to join the Motor České Budějovice club next year after putting up 17 points in four goals and 13 assists for the Norfolk Admirals this past season.
Kubicek saw time in 11 postseason games with the Admirals in the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs and recorded two goals. Prior to this year, he was with the Newfoundland Growlers and scored four goals and 14 points during the 2022-23 season while also seeing three games with the AHL's Manitoba Moose.
Before that, the Jindrichuv Hradec, Czechia, native spent three years in the WHL, two with the Seattle Thunderbirds and one with the Edmonton Oil Kings. With the latter, Kubicek tallied 41 points in 14 goals and 27 assists during the 2021-22 regular season and added 11 points in 19 playoff games.
