Adirondack Thunder forward Ryan Smith established a new franchise record in the team's Game 5 win against Florida on Saturday night. He has an opportunity to break another on Tuesday.

Ryan Smith continued his remarkable postseason run for the Adirondack Thunder on Saturday night, recording the go-ahead goal and eventual game-winner at the 5:19 mark of the third period in Game 5 of the ECHL Eastern Conference Finals.

With the tally, Smith has accumulated ten postseason goals in the last two years, establishing a new franchise record for most playoff goals. The Adirondack forward recorded one goal in five postseason games last season, and he leads the team with nine this year, which ties Ryan Schmelzer for most goals in a single playoff run.

After finishing his senior season at Canisius College, Schmelzer achieved the incredible stretch in the 2018 Kelly Cup Playoffs. With at least one more game, Smith will have an opportunity to pass Schmelzer's mark should he score in Game 6 on Tuesday night.
