Adirondack, Allen and Kansas City - all riding lengthy win streaks - and Toledo - 12-0-1-1 in their past 14 - are four of the hottest teams in the ECHL.

The All-Star festivities are fast approaching, and from here we can assess the major movers and shakers in the ECHL this season.

Four clubs - the Toledo Walleye, Kansas City Mavericks, Allen Americans and Adirondack Thunder - are making a strong and steady mid-season push toward the playoffs.

Toledo, topping the Central division with 51 points with a league-best 23-4-2-3 record, have gone 12-0-1-1 in their past 14 games with an outstanding 14-1-1 record on the road. The Walleye, fresh off a 7-2 demolishing of the Fuel on Wednesday, have an outstanding +42 goals for/against differential in 32 games.

Topping the Mountain division, the Kansas City Mavericks pushed their win streak to seven with a 4-2 overtime win over the Steelheads on Wednesday. Holding down a 24-7-1 record with 49 points in 32 games, the Mavericks, like Toledo, have an outstanding road record, going 14-2 in enemy territory this season.

Further down the Mountain division, but just barely, is the surging Allen Americans, who find themselves amid a six-game win streak. The Americans have come in hot in the past month despite holding a .500 win/loss record. The club is 9-1 in their last ten games, recently seeking past the Grizzles 5-4 on Wednesday.

Finally, the Adirondack Thunder, fresh off a 5-2 two win over the Newfoundland Growlers last night in St. John's, also find themselves on a seven-game win streak. With a 23-8-2-1 record through 34 games, the Thunder are 8-2 in their last ten with a strong +27 goals for/against differential on the season.
