The Dallas Stars sweep the series in NHL 24
With the Western Conference Finals set to get underway later tonight we simulated the Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars series in NHL 24 to see who the game thinks will advance to the Stanley Cup Finals.
Our Eastern Conference Finals simulation saw the New York Rangers win the series in seven games.
These teams have met six times in the playoffs, including five time straight from 1997-2001. The Stars have won five of the six matchups.
For lineup decisions we inserted Roope Hintz because he is expected to return for Game 2, we also kept Alex Petrovic in the lineup over Nils Lundkvist. For the Oilers we kept Adam Henrique out of the lineup and inserted Sam Carrick for Corey Perry, as projected.
This simulation was not close as the Dallas Stars won four straight games, outscoring the Oilers 23-7 and sweeping their way to the Stanley Cup Finals.

This series was all Dallas from the first period of the simulation. The Stars had nine different players score two goals, Jamie Benn, Joe Pavelski, and Jason Robertson all had six points.
The Stars outshot the Oilers 158 to 106 in the four games.
The Oilers could not muster any offense, no player had more than one goal or two points in the series. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl each only had one point.
Jake Oettinger had a .933 save percentage in the series, while Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard had a .864 and .829 respectively.
We only simulate these games and do not make any line changes but it is safe to assume Edmonton would make some significant changes if the series was going the same way as the simulation.
Dallas fans are hoping they get a series as close to this simulation as possible, while Oilers fans hope for the opposite.
