Upgrades to Truculence and Shrug It Off highlight changes

NHL 24 received a new tuner update today at noon Eastern Time, with changes to gameplay and X-Factors. 

This update significantly increases the power and damage of body checking as EA SPORTS appears to be encouraging more hits while incentivizing the use of certain X-Factors.  

There was also a big upgrade for smaller goaltenders, both Extra Padding and Lightwork received a boost. A 40% buff for the Zone Ability and a 15% buff for the Superstar Ability. 

There are no specifications on what a smaller goaltender is but these are significant upgrades.

Truculence and Shrug It Off are the two benefactors of this update for skaters, as non-Truculence hits received a nerf, they now deliver a max of 35 stamina damage on biggest hits. 

Truculence Zone Ability and Superstar Abilities received 75% and 35% boosts, respectively. 

Shrug it Off Zone Ability and Superstar Abilities also received a 75% and 35% buff.

Truculence is already considered one of the most overpowered X-Factors in the game so it is a bit strange to see it receive such a significant upgrade at this point in the year. 

The boost the Shrug It Off is clearly meant to counter the buff to Truculence. Given the current gameplay meta it is likely players will have to equip one of these two X-Factors to remain competitive.
