Mikko Rantanen and Ilya Samsonov headline new batch of Live Moment Cards

A new set of NHL 24 HUT Live Moment Cards has been released. For those unfamiliar with what a Live Moments card is, here is a quick explanation. Live Moment cards are performance-based cards released several times throughout the week.

These cards are given a higher overall than what their base card is in the game. For example, Edmonton Oilers goaltender Calvin Pickard received an 83 overall Live Moments card. He has only one other card in the game: a base gold 77 overall card.

Mikko Rantanen and Noah Dobson received the highest-rated cards at 91 overall, and it is also Rantanen's sixth Live Moments card already this season, the most among all players.

Stats and abilities

Mikko Rantanen - 91, RW, SNP

Rantanen recorded four assists and a goal in Colorado's 6-2 thumping over the Washington Capitals on Jan. 24. This was his first five-point night in his career and his 20th multi-point game in the 2023-24 season.

This card can be an ultimate puck ragger with his 93 agility, 90 strength and balance, and unstoppable force superstar ability.

Noah Dobson - 91, RD, TWD

Dobson played over 30 minutes on Jan. 25 against Montreal while grabbing three assists on the powerplay. He's having an outstanding season, leading the Islanders in points, and has nine points in his last five games.

His card is incredibly balanced with excellent defensive stats along with 95 passing and 96 offensive awareness. This is Dobson's fourth Live Moments card.

Carter Verhaeghe - 90, LW, TWF

Verhaeghe is known as more of a sniper, but his three-assist night on Jan. 24 against Arizona helped him earn this card.

If you need a shooter for your HUT team, then I'd recommend trying to acquire this card, considering how elite the shooting stats are.

Sean Monahan - 86, C, TWF

In that same game where Dobson impressed, Monahan stood out too with a two-goal, three-point night, and scoring the game-winning goal with under three minutes left.

This card is very well balanced all around in stats. His 82 faceoffs plus a potentially plus-three upgrade to it with the two-way forward synergy is appealing if you need some help winning faceoffs.

Pius Suter - 84, C, TWF

Suter notched his second career hat-trick against St. Louis on Jan. 24, helping get the Canucks into overtime scoring with under a minute left in the game down 3-2. He followed up that game with two assists the next night.

One thing that pops out with this card is his 89 speed, 88 acceleration, and 88 agility despite only being 84 overall.

Ilya Samsonov - 84, G, HYB

Samsonov recorded his second shutout of the year on Jan. 24 with a 32-save performance, which included an incredible sequence of saves of a 2-on-0 Winnipeg had on the penalty kill.

Having this card in your lineup can help improve the speed of your team with the speed boost synergy it has.

Jack Quinn - 83, RW, SNP

Quinn had his best game of the season last Wednesday night in Los Angeles with a three-point night, five shots, and was a plus-four.

The sniper forward synergy on this card will help improve the shooting stats for your team.

John-Jason Peterka - 83, LW, TWF

In that same Buffalo vs Los Angeles game, Peterka had maybe his best game of the season as well. He scored twice and added an assist while also being a plus-four in the game.

He scored another two goals in Buffalo's next game against San Jose. This card has strong shooting and skating stats.

Calvin Pickard - 83, G, HYB

Pickard recorded his fifth career shutout to help secure Edmonton's 15th straight victory against Chicago on Jan. 25.

The two stats on his card that pop out are his 88 speed and agility. If you like to perform dekes, then having this card in your lineup will help because of the agile dangler boost synergy on it.

Alex Lyon - 83, G, HYB

Lyon made 30 stops for his second shutout of the season against Philadelphia last Thursday. Detroit was outshot in all three periods, but Lyon was up to the task.

He's been unbelievable for the Red Wings and has taken control of the crease as of late. Like Pickard, his speed and agility are his two highest stats.
