Continuing with our NHL 24 playoff simulations, today we are predicting Game 2 of the Carolina Hurricanes vs. New York Islanders series.
The simulation was tight checking and featured great goaltending from both teams, much like real life Game 1. The Islanders ultimately came out on top to tie the series 1-1.
Special teams proved to be a difference, with the Islanders going 1/3 on the powerplay, while the Hurricanes did not have any powerplays in the game.
We used these lines from The Hockey News' Islanders reporter Stefen Rosner and inserted Jean-Gabriel Pageau for Game 2.
Alexander Romanov had a great game, ringing a shot off the crossbar in the first period before scoring the game winning goal with less than a minute left. He also played 29 Minutes.

Jordan Martinook was the lone goal scorer for Carolina, and he was largely the only Hurricane who had any dangerous scoring chances before Guentzel with ten seconds left.
Much like real life both Semyon Varlamov and Frederik Andersen played great. Noah Dobson played 35 minutes for New York while Brent Burns played 37 for Carolina.
