The Tampa Bay Lightning made a trade with the San Jose Sharks on Thursday, acquiring scoring winger Anthony Duclair and a seventh round pick in exchange for Jack Thompson and a 2024 third round pick.
The Lightning will be the eighth team of Duclair's ten-year career. The speedy 28-year-old has been able to score goals at a good rate almost everywhere he's been and provides Tampa with some cost efficient offense.
Despite a quiet year Duclair has 16 goals and 27 points in 56 games.
Below we decided to see if the Lightning could acquire the Quebec native in NHL 24.
Despite having a similarly poor season to their real life counterparts, the San Jose Sharks did not seem keen to sell, rejecting Tampa Bay's offer.
The trade did work if offered by the Sharks first, but San Jose was insistent on more coming back when approached by Tampa. This simulation could be a good sign for the real life Lightning and their newly acquired sniper.
