The Toronto Maple Leafs improved their depth on the Trade Deadline after acquiring Connor Dewar from the Minnesota Wild for Dmitry Ovchinnikov and a 2026 fourth round pick.
Dewar is a penalty killing specialist who has 10 goals and 14 points in 57 games this season. Ovchinnikov has been inconsistent in the AHL this season and will remain with the Marlies despite the trade.
The 24-year-old Dewar is not a household name so we wanted to see how he was valued in NHL 24.
The trade went through without issues and the Wild were happy to make the deal at this price.
Dewar gives the Leafs flexibility in the bottom-six for what NHL 24 considers a fair price.
The 24-year-old is pending RFA and Minnesota needs to save every dollar they can while they face the cap penalties for buying out Ryan Suter and Zach Parise.
