Can he be acquired for a fourth round pick?
The New York Rangers added to their forward core at the Trade Deadline, acquiring Columbus native Jack Roslovic from the Blue Jackets in exchange for a conditional fourth round pick.
Roslovic has 23 points in 40 games this season and can play center or wing. The Blue Jackets retained half of his $4-million salary.
The 27-year-old was originally traded to Columbus with Patrik Laine for Pierre-Luc Dubois and a third.
The Blue Jackets were not willing to part with Roslovic in NHL 24 for a mid-round pick, and demanded better compensation.
The condition on the pick is that it becomes a third round pick if the Rangers reach the Stanley Cup Final. We attempted the trade with the Rangers' 2026 third, it was also denied.
Roslovic had a career high 22 goals and 45 points in the 2021-22 season. NHL 24 thinks highly of him and that this trade is a win for the Rangers
