Will the trade work in Franchise Mode?
After winning nine of their last ten games and sitting comfortably in a playoff spot the Nashville Predators added veteran winger Jason Zucker in a trade with the Arizona Coyotes.
The Predators only had to part with a 2024 sixth round pick (originally Dallas') to acquire Zucker.
The 32-year-old has nine goals and 25 points in 51 games this season. A one-time 30 goal scorer, Zucker figures to slot in as a middle-six winger with the Predators.
Given the light return for an established player, we wanted to see if the trade would work in Franchise Mode.
To our surprise Arizona accepted the trade in NHL 24. Arizona did not have to retain any of Zucker's $5.3 million dollar salary, which seems to have been appealing for them both in real life and in-game.
Arizona probably hoped for a larger return but they get to save money and do a solid for a veteran player.
