Can the Leafs add to their defense in NHL 24?
The Toronto Maple Leafs added some size to their back end last Thursday, acquiring Joel Edmundson from the Washington Capitals for a 2024 third and 2025 fifth round draft pick.
Edmundson is a Stanley Cup champion who has six points in 44 games this season.
The reaction to the trade was mixed among Leafs fans, and we wanted to see what NHL 24 thought of the deal.
The Capitals accepted the deal with no pushback while NHL 24 thought it was fair value. Washington retained half of Edmundson's salary for the remainder of the season.
The Leafs were clearly looking to add some toughness and depth and Franchise Mode thinks they accomplished their goal.
The Capitals originally acquired Edmundson from Montreal for a third and seventh round pick, so they acquired more than they gave up with this trade.
